Bicycle Trainers & Rollers

All cycling enthusiasts have days when outdoor riding is just not an option. When you need to maintain your training or workout routine, consider bicycle trainers and rollers. These handy options give cyclists the benefits of a training workout without the worries of cycling in the weather outdoors.

What is a bicycle trainer or roller?

A trainer essentially turns your cycle into an indoor exercise bike for a virtual cycling training workout. It is a framework that your bike fits into. With most styles, the front wheel is held stationary, while the rear wheel rolls against resistance.

A roller is a narrow piece of gear that lies flat on the floor. It has three rolling cylinders that span the width of the frame. You simply balance your bicycle on the cylinders and begin riding.

Toyota vehicle converted to ambulance with ‘airborne droplet circulation system’

Toyota has been helping out in various ways in the global fight against Covid-19 pandemic – from developing face masks to coming up with restart manuals for the auto industry. Now, the company in Japan has transformed one of its vehicles into an ambulance with modified features to safely transport Covid-19 patients from one location to another.

The Toyota Hiace-based vehicle features a special system called ‘airborne droplet circulation control’ which helps to expel possibly contaminated air from within the cabin. The cabin itself has been divided into two sections – the interior barrier makes for a front section for the driver and front passenger while the rearward compartment has the rear passenger seat area coupled with an exhaust fan which throws out air from the vehicle. This prevents the possibly contaminated air in the

Ask the Right Questions About Electric Vehicle Adoption

With oil prices plummeting, it’s reasonable to expect that some advisors and investors are pondering whether slumping crude bodes ill for electric vehicle adoption and ETFs such as the ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF (NYSEARCA: ARKQ).

Known in part for being one of the ETFs with the largest weights to Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA), ARKQ captures the converging industrial and technology sectors, capitalizing from autonomous vehicles, robotics, 3D printing, and energy storage technologies. That wide mandate helps lever the ARK fund too much more than just self-driving cars, an important trait at a time of rapid robotics advancements.

With a 13% weight to Tesla, ARKQ is indeed levered to the electric vehicle trend, but investors may not need to fret over lower oil prices affecting the ARK fund. In fact, that question may miss the market altogether.

“While investors are asking if electric vehicle (EV) sales will fall

Business is booming during pandemic for nonprofit bike shop helping everyone get a bicycle

TAMPA, Fla. — “The whole world wants bikes right now!”

It is safe to say Jon Dengler is the hardest-working man in Tampa’s University Mall right now.

The eerily-silent shopping center still hosts at least one bustling storefront: WellBuilt Bikes.

The shop is a nonprofit repurposing donated bikes and helps anyone get wheels, no matter their financial standing.

“I’ve been joking all week that our racks look like the toilet paper aisle!” says Dengler, who has a small dedicated staff helping him.

Business is booming at WellBuilt right now.

People without access to transportation are a big part of the clientele. Dengler says bus riders worried about the coronavirus are coming into the store for a safer alternative.

“And then we have all those people who are stuck in their houses and simply want to get outside for some exercise,” Dengler adds.

WellBuilt offers all bikes for all people.

12 best bicycle bells for 2020

A bicycle bell is the traditional way of letting other road and cycle path users know that you’re there and it’s doubly useful when there are lots of people on foot about. Bells may not be glamorous, but they’re having a bit of a renaissance as accessory makers come up with bells that are more reliable and look and sound better. Let’s take a look.

  • You’re not legally obliged to have a bicycle bell, but they can be a handy way to give a friendly warning of your approach

  • There’s a huge range out there, from tiny, cheap pingers to spendy titanium units and even (allegedly) aerodynamic bells

  • Don’t wait till you’re almost on top of someone to sound your bell; startled pedestrians quite reasonably take umbrage

12 of the best bike bells for 2020

“Where’s your bell?!” It’s a line you’ve probably heard many times, usually after you’ve shouted
