Police: Ship Bottom Beach Patrol vehicle hits two Pennsylvania girls; driver charged with reckless driving

A Ship Bottom Beach Patrol vehicle struck a pair of teenage girls from Pennsylvania who were laying on the New Jersey beach a little after 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, local authorities said on Facebook. The incident occurred at the 26th Street Beach of the Ocean County town, which is located on Long Beach Island.

The girls’ names were not provided, but Ship Bottom police said that the victims were a 14-year-old female from Fleetwood, Berks County and a 15-year-old female from Leestwood. The two girls were taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune City, Monmouth County where they were treated and eventually released from the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, 22-year-old John Purdon of Barnegat, Ocean County, was charged with reckless driving pending a court date.

The town also issued a statement on its Facebook page on Saturday to send well wishes to the two female victims

A Las Vegas driver claims that the rapper attacked him during an argument, TMZ reports. Last November, the driver picked up DaBaby and his crew in a Sprinter van. After they made a few stops, DaBaby and his friends wanted to smoke a joint and the driver said no.

The situation escalated from there. Police say the crew began cursing the driver out and threatened him. When they arrived at the Hard Rock Hotel and the driver asked to be paid, DaBaby allegedly punched him in the back of the head and said, “You ain’t the boss.”

A WHO driver was killed when his vehicle carrying coronavirus test samples was attacked in Myanmar

A World Health Organisation vehicle carrying coronavirus test samples came under fire in Myanmar, in an attack that killed the driver and seriously injured a government official, the UN said Tuesday.

The attack happened on Monday in Minbya, in the country’s northwestern Rakhine state, where the military has been fighting with the Buddhist insurgent group Arakan Army.

The UN’s Myanmar mission named the driver as Pyae Sone Win Maung, saying it was “deeply saddened” to confirm his death.

Police have identified the driver who died after rolling his vehicle into the Scarborough Marsh. Christopher Thompson, 19, of Old Orchard Beach, was found dead in his car just before 10:00 a.m.Police said Thompson was driving south on Pine Point Road when it crashed into the marsh.Thompson was the only person inside the vehicle, police said.Pine Point Road was shut down for several hours while the scene was cleared.The crash remains under investigation.
